Peer Review Statement

All published articles in NAVIGATION, Journal of the Institute of Navigation undergo a rigorous peer review process based on:

  1. Initial editor screening and assignment to an associate editor.
  2. Review of manuscript by associate editor for appropriateness of scope, content and assignment to independent peer reviewers.
  3. Each manuscript is reviewed by a minimum of two independent referees. The ultimate purpose of peer review is to assure research quality and originality by ensuring:
  • manuscript contains new and significant information to justify publication;
  • objectives of the work are clearly and concisely stated;
  • if there are experimental and/or theoretical methods they are comprehensively described;
  • interetptations and conclusions are justified by the results;
  • there are adequate references made to prior work in the field;
  • language is acceptable; and
  • filtration of poor quality generally.
